Here’s some intense hi-tec jazz for your ears from Los Angeles DJ and Underground resistance affiliate Esteban Adame. ‘Brown Dream’ is a vocodered vocal prompted, sub-bass roller that is pleasantly full bodied and yet a pleasantly mellow smoker. ‘Assimilation’ teases with ticklish snares and toms then builds with ricocheting hi-hats and synth pads until the melody releases the hypnotic genie from the bottle. ‘Here First’ is a straight four to the floor thumper that tumbles over itself with its plucked arpeggiation and miaowing synth pads. It’s techno served as fresh and crisp as today’s polar iceberg yet at the same time takes me back to very early Tribal America, Deep Dish a la Prana, Quench sound. Back to the future.
