At risk of sounding like a string pull, Fink appreciation doll, here is ‘Fall Into The Light’ the latest release from the Horizontalism album. In its original form it is a sexy downtempo folk soul seduction with strummed guitars, sullen synths and impeccable timing. IN keeping with the Horizontalism deconstruction theme, there are remixes now from Deadbeat which takes it on a haunting, dubby and dissonant metallic foundry hit driven adventure. Margaret Dygas strips it down for a vocal free, KY jelly slathered, techno ultrasound. To close Prequel Tapes centres on the guitars to create a wonky and melting candlelit seranade which morphs into a heavy techno underwater haunting as the beats amp it up and extinguish the flame. Fall into the light and negotiate your way through the dense esoteric abyss. Headphones required.
