As the sleeve note states: “Made solely for the hips & ass rather than for the head & the heart” which neatly sums up what the release is all about. Although, you could also say that this record consists of two halves: one of which talks you through the history of House from the lips of some of its originators, while the second delivers a hard-hitting, filtered fuelled groove to lose yourself in. The two go and hand in hand on the aptly named ‘This Is House’ while satisfying on just about every level. The statement of intent follows on with ‘The Underground’ which again hits you with relentless filtered rhythms and looped words, leaving G’s Nasty Take to mess up the Disco with fuzzy bass and dancefloor punch.
