Groove Armada more than live up their name with ‘You Got To’ their latest release on Jaymo and Andy George’s rather spiffing label Moda Black. It’s an magic carpet jam that rolls out on an undulating bassline, following the smooth twists and turns signalled by the stacatto vocal snippets and soulful ‘You Got To … hurry’ moan. A gentle gear change and you’re lead boldly through a dense, evergreen piano house landscape until you reach the euphoric and final ‘dj’ prompted, podium-topping stop. It will make you wear your ‘one more tune’ encore smile with pride. The Theo Kottis remix is a ticklish, atmospheric affair that scorches your edges with its percolating bassline, cloud burst synths and flashing disco beacon beats that entice you to release your soul on the dance floor. You’ve got to love Groove Armada for their unwavering dedication to producing quality, underground house music and Moda Black for releasing it. No really, that’s an order.
