The excellent Ian Friday does it again with his latest release on New York’s seminal West End Records. And take it from me there’s not much that you won’t love about this. Pumping afro-beats drive the rhythm as layers of Vibes, Sax stabs and fiery Latino piano keep on building, and all the while the vocals scat like nobodies business to translate into over nine minutes of the ‘MKDVJC Twisted Main Mix’. Pablo Martinez then tweaks the vibe with a funky analogue bassline, while retaining the full Latin flavours for something a touch deeper though equally as satisfying. Leaving Central Park’s EBAR and Scott Richmond to round matters off with inclusion of synths for the party mix.
