Two generations of the genre come head-to-head with the master of old skool house adding his sweetly distinctive vocals to the young buck UK producer’s beats. (Okay Sir Piers has been making music for a fair few years too, but you catch my drift). The lyrics unfortunately are of the lets-go-back-to-the-old-skool variety, but the upside is a vintage performance from Owens’ dreamy adlibs and gospel-tinged backing chorus. Aimed firmly at the specialist market, and reminiscent of past releases on Purple Music; perfect for those pre-club/after-hours sessions when the musical emphasis turns to quality rather than functionality with a pair of tasty mixes from Sir Piers, along with versions from DirtDiggers and Liquid People.
