The Vibe, may sound like the soundtrack to every club you went to in the early 90’s and listening to this certainly spins your head around with a severe case of Déjà vu. But have to say that none-the-less you will find this very engaging rhythm hard to resist. There are lots of familiar hints in the production from the knowing vocal snippets through to rousing Horn blasts that cleverly read the past while injecting all that excitement straight into 2014. Driven along by shuffling Hi-hats accompanied by delicious throbbing Bass and taught Stabs this sounds just as vibrant as it always did. Do It To Me Baby, then adds a full vocal to the vibe’s arrangement though loses something in the process, perhaps by just simply sounding too retrospective?
