Although Dave Lee’s alter ego has dabbled with sounds borrowed from movie scores (‘American Dream’) and ‘80s pop classics (‘Ever So Lonely’) his latest release is more akin to the soulful sounds his Sunburst Band project are usually associated with. Afrocentric grooves, tribal chants and a slick soulful house backdrop create enough tension to see this having longevity to last until next spring’s Winter Music Conference where it would be in its most natural habitat.
