Newcomer Jake Chudnow’s ‘Shona’ is an uptempo exploration into a plucked, guitar-led techno universe that shines and shimmers then bounces like fat raindrops on a moonlit sea. Prelude to Shona extrapolates an beatless, ambient theme from the mother track that’s drenched in tight and tinny synth brass, vibrating ecclesiastical organ pads and arpeggiating keys. Vaguely reminiscent of Nathan Fake, Border Community and James Holden. Great xwork for a first outing.
