Fixia

A great opening 12 to kick off Jamie Andersons new label, Fixia, showing the rest how its done on this ace collection of multi-flavoured underground rubs. No prises for guessing the influences rehashed on ‘Back Then’, a bonefide bassline led workout that re-heats the classic late 80’s house blueprint with a moody, deep edge and suitable percussion. “Open your mind’ is the obligatory acid track, moving through an eastern sounding sequence of dark synths, perfect for 4am mind bending action. ‘Food for thought’ throws classic Detroit chords and familiar sounds into a direct arrangement over sparse disco beats, making it more accessible to house bods than tech terrorists. All four are superb, demonstrating why your boy is one of the UK’s best at surfing the techno / house hinterland in style.
