Here you have Extendidus Playus Maximus: that rare creature amongst EPs where we are treated to two tracks and joy unbounded, both are great. Yippee. Hats off (and coats and scarves and anything else that prevents you from shacking out and sweating hard to this little gem) to Jaymo, Andy George and Moda Black for consistently delivering the goods. ‘Tales From The Basement’ is my jammy jump-up, rewind and come again track. You know that moment when the vocal, beats, bassline, synths and breakdowns work in perfect harmony? Yep – that. No dancing partner required. ‘Henry’s Treat’ is a disco looper that’s been built and stacked in homage to the Henry Street label we all know and love. It’s a funk- fuelled festival with lashings of disco strings ladled on top to lift your spirits and soothe your soul. It’s also what back rooms and basements were built for. Result.
