Vocally this syncs incredibly well with Tyken’s Darryl D’bonneau sing-along ‘Don’t Ever Stop Dancing’, and whilst that particular track harks back to the days in Leroy Burgess’ prime, ‘Why We Try’ offers a new twist on the Quincy Jones ‘Razzmatazz’ disco sound with Jones’ vocally more in keeping with Michael Watford’s delivery. Throw in a nifty sax solo, some chunky drums, and beautiful key changes into the mix and this smacks of retro cool.
