From the Grammy Award winner’s third album, ‘The Real Thing: Words & Sounds Vol. 3’ comes a brace of soulfully appealing bassline-driven house retoolings of the R&B original by Quentin Harris. The Philly singer’s oh-so-polished vocal inflection and panache smacks of the charm of that other notable R&B-come-dance nu-soul singer, Mary J Blige. While this classy hybrid of US house is a real attention grabber and has loads of subtle qualities that match the tight ‘n’ sophisticated production, all talk is of the singer’s current starring role in the US #1 box office movie ‘Why Did I Get Married?’
