Jonny Cade – Love Play – (Troupe)

It’s hard to work out quite why Jonny Cade hasn’t made it as big as some time collaborator Huxley. His fresh tunes are UK centric, big, bold and full of bass and come on labels like 2020Vision and Brighton’s Black Key. Now the Londoner is back on local label Troupe Records with two more standout jams that should do well on the dance floor in the coming months. First up is Love Play, a writhing fusion of fat bass, skewed, tortured sounding synths and cool vocal cries that add lots of female emotion to an otherwise physical track. It’s a refreshingly produced track with vibes a plenty. Next up is Get Out The Room, which much more goes for the jugular with sharp, stabbed chords injecting colour and energy into bobbling drums and dark, filtered vocals, This groove is as loose limbed and party as they come so will be a fine one to drop to make clubs go wild. Once again here Cade comes up trumps and Troupe continue to unearth the jams.
