Another first rate release from the label which again sees their artist push at the boundaries with three equally distinctly, devastating weapons. The EP’s title track, ‘Different Strokes’ fuses Detroit together with classic Chicago as taught basslines run the rich seam of intense drum machine rhythms and splashes of cool synthesizer. The irresistible, and certainly warped, ‘Law Of One’ follows with inspiration lifted straight from the late eighties in what is a second ingenious production, this time all the more drenched in atmosphere. Although, for me it’s the final, self-explanatory, ’Sweatbox’ that sets the room ablaze with a ridiculously tasty bassline plus big-time Jackin’ beats accompanied by addictive vocal stabs and a real sense of occasion.
