It was only a matter of time before a lightbulb went on in a deep house producer’s head and The Strafe classic ‘Set It Off’ was renovated for consumption by a generation of new clubbers and Traktor / Serato djs. The vinyl dj’s will no doubt have dug through enough crates in order to stick with and to the original but as remakes / cover versions go Juliet Sikora & Tube & Berger have perfectly dusted off, gutted, rewired and replumbed it until it functions faultlessly anew. By blending the Strafe chorus in a now ubiquitous time stretched, slowed down style with a rubbery, ECG bassline then adding the new ‘Come On Now’ verse to great effect, ‘Come On Now (Set It Off) A very good lesson in how to make new friends and influence some important people.
