If you know your Willie Ninjas from your Willie Wonka, then you’ll recognise the key vocal ‘I’m Hot For You, hot hot hot hot hot hot hot’ as the hook from the vogue-tastic Willie Ninja (RIP) and Barbara Tucker’s 90’s Nervous Records classic ‘Hot’. If you don’t know that you’ll love this record whatever for the old skool sounding, fairground organ looped dance off that it is. Jessie trills it all nicely without overworking her larynx and everything is right with the world. A dub would have made me wag my tail a whole lot more, since Julio’s bassline drop sinks its teeth into your carotid deeper than Nosferatu’s fangs ever could. Whatever. It’s cool and fresh and that’s what matters most.
