Kenny’s remarkable Taste For The Low Life debut album still stands as one of the year’s best in a towering year and the remix EPs are coming as a brilliant counter-part. The second sees five tracks given a diverse array of treatments, starting with Justin Drake’s tribal house take on ‘Dance 2 Da House’, continuing with Jonny White subjecting ‘Can You Feel’ to a deeply bass-swamped exercise in early hours narcotic undulation. James Teej takes ‘T.W.A.M. 2009’ into deep tech-house territory with lush pads, Hypercolour’s Alex Jones tweaks ‘The Keeper’ into pulsing, near beatless avant-ambient waters before those Toronto’s My Favourite Robot uncork an excellent house treatment of ‘The Sandman’ with deep Detroit tech-textures. There’s a real not-so-quiet revolution going on around these fellas.
