Further evidence that the San Francisco Bay Area is up and throbbing arrives with this pulsating gopher’s bell-end of a deep house sports day from San Jose’s new Clique Trax imprint, started by a trio who’ve already appeared on labels like OM, Green Gorilla Lounge [!], Nighshift and Motion Music. They know how to work it live and it shows in three tracks ranging from the low-flying, card-on-the-table squirtiness of ‘We Came To Party’ through ‘Something 2 Undo”s acid-flecked humperama to propulsive ‘Day dreamer’ with its guitar flourishes and female soul vocal flashes. Great start.
