Of the four Llama sorry Lana del Rey tracks currently available on my (oh so behind french Itunes account) I confess to actually curing my irrational bitter bitch neuroses and pathological mistrust of the uber-marketed, pop femme fatale and to actually LIKING West Coast in all its original clothes and glory. It reminds me of David Lynch, Twin Peaks’ incidental music, Chris Isaaks and a whole host of other slide guitar abusers who are my guilty trailer park pleasures. Alex Nagshineh directs his arrows at the slow-mo, tech house underground by shearing away most of the vocal then adding a unfeasibly large, throbbing pulse, hazy wavering guitar effects and stuttery, sparkling keys. Step up MK to make this doubly delicious with a rocking at full pelt then pole dancing when slowed down, dust-on-the-needle sounding, chunky, clunky deep house rewiring that has you working the dancefloor so well you’ll think that you’re becoming a highly paid talk show host – or a hooker – once you get sleazy with your bad self.
