“Stage Invader” is the debut album from Linus Loves due in March 2006, but to tide you over & wet your appetite even further, they’ve decided to put out “The Victoria Principle EP”, which is 4 cuts that won’t be on the LP. The opener “First Base” is a true to form hark back to the early days of acid house, working classic Derek May-isms alongside some of today’s squiggly riffs, resulting in a Transmat for 2006 vibe. “The Theme” is up next, doffing a cap to Lil Louis’ “French Kiss” & adding touches of Georgio Moroder. “VH1” goes down the Balearic trail, acknowledging Fleetwood Mac’s “Big Love”, & the title track “The Victoria Principle” brings the EP to a close on a Bobby O tip. Can’t wait for March 2006.
