Scotland’s Gordon Logan debuts on Missive with a trio of swirling groove-heavy outings which manage to nod both at classic deep house and contemporary dreamscapes. The title track sets the scene with lush textures and warmly-embroidered layers over understated but solid groove. As co-owner of Seinan Music with Andy Graham, better known as the ever-impressive Sei A, it comes as little surprise but massive bonus to find him turned loose on a typically-atmospheric, bass-propelled remix, complete with ethereal vocal swathes and a drop to die for. ‘Westie’ is where the early 90s strain of NY deepness rises to the surface with marimba and vocal shards.
