London Grammar – Hey Now (Remixes) – Metal And Dust

London trio Dominic ‘Dot’ Major, Hannah Reid and Dan Rothman aka ‘London Grammar’ release a glittering goody bag of remixes of the anthemic single from their debut EP ‘Hey Now’. Hannah’s haunting, smoky vocals (packing the awesome combined force and beauty of Judie Tsuke, Florence Welch and Lana Del Rey) perfectly counterbalance Dot and Dan’s sublime instrumental melancholia to create their hymn to disaffected, emotional youth. Add a raft of remixes from Tensnake, KDA, Bonobo, Arty, Planet Of Sound and you know you are going to hear this at least once at any event you can shake your disco stick at. The Tensnake remix  is an 80’s disco rock affair with its synth line nod to Moroder’s ‘Spacer’ – perfect for summer picnics and festival VIP tents. Bonobo plays his syncopated, looped, electronica hand with aplomb whilst Arty rework the track in a  brooding, heartbeat driven, progressive style that to its infinite credit keeps Hannah’s soaring, caramel and cracknel vocal perfectly intact. Here you have an unbeatable package that will further jettison this extraordinary trio into the international limelight and well deserved it is too.
