On the hip & collectible Whatever We Want label out of the USA, DJ Harvey & Tom Bullock debut their Map Of Africa outfit for an eager public. It finds Harvey going back to his rock influenced roots, merging disco paced rhythms with acid fiered electronics and “let’s turn the volume past eleven” styled lyrics, talk of three way affairs and the need for dirtier love. It’s the sort of debauched, spaced out, devil-worshiping, sexy music your parents no doubt warned you against. With records like this blasting out of more discerning club sounds systems, it’s no wonder that some Ibiza establishments are whispering about practising a broader musical diet rather than house music all night long. Get sanctified.
