Marc Philipp – Rezo EP

After kicking off with a great EP from Sascha Dive, new young label Epilog is back with a follow up release that is just as hot. Behind this one is experienced producer Marc Philipp who comes correct with two great cuts. Kicking things off is the title track, which is riddled with subtle trance elements and is designed for main room damage. It’s a powerful start to the EP before ‘Dikam’ goes much deeper and darker. This one is more of a back room tech house tool with tight drums, riveting percussion and curious little hooks. The final track closing out his tidy package is ‘Aechel’. This one is different again, with barely any drums at all and instead just unsettling atmospheres and scurrying little textures making for an unsettling listen that will take the mood right down in any decent DJ set. With this EP Marc Philipp proves himself to be a truly versatile talent.
