This is one of those wonderfully retro future disco EPs created out of love, respect and a homage to the heady days of the mirror ball. Berliner Marc Poppcke has already made a name for himself via acclaimed deep and minimal singles for Moonpool, Meerestief and Ostwind, but the new change of direction will open up his obvious talent to a much wider audience. AS to the music, ‘Far Away From You’, is built on a groove lifted from Rahni Harris’ cult ’78 jazz-funker ‘Six Million Steps’, while ‘Destination Disco’ borrows heavily from the riff of Chic’s ‘My Forbidden Lover’. The pair forms a formidable combination that will keep fans of Alan Braxe, Kris Menace and Fred Falke wanting more.
