San Remo is characterised by arpeggiating synths, a hip thrusting beat, synths and keys that are draped in swathes of shiny lurex, held in by tight spandex and sports a permed mullet that a man can be proud of. Earmark on the other hand is a straight four to the floor, religious experience that pumps in just the same way that made Exceeder so damned special all those years ago. Make no mistake, Mason knows how to write a bassline. Then to close the package, there’s the refurbed, recorder reworking of ‘Earmark’ that’ll have you saying ‘forsooth the lady doth protest too much’ and make you dust off your ruff and yellow stockings in time for Ye Olde Banquet. It’s really rather special.
