Anjunabeats’ Matan Zohar launches his new label ‘Mad Zoo’ with a varied and funky double-sided stick-it-to-you-thon. First up, ‘Get Down 2 Get Up’ is a vocodered filtered disco cut up featuring new pop hopefuls ‘The Knocks’. It is effervescent and euphoric and bounces like a basketball in the NBA playoffs. ‘Left to Right’ is a bold, beat banging, frog chorus with wobbly effects and a buzzsaw bass that could shear through wood, concrete and metal with butterknife ease. Its high octane breaks attitude shapeshifts into a jacked and stacked second half. The squashy synth rave pads and soaring effects rocket launch it and you into a whole other dimension. It’s big and busy but in a good way.
