Aww this just bought happy tears to my eyes . I do love supporting the home team as you know, so it puffs up my chest with hometown glory to say that Mediate are a young, Manchester-based production duo consisting of vocalist Suzy Alexander and producer, Ant Hickman. In its original version ‘Every Time’ is a rolling in the deep affair with pendulum swinging basslines and sparkling bright vocal contrast. The Youan remix has a bit more meat on its bones – fattening up the pianos, working the breakdowns and dynamics and adding a vicious bassline that’ll blow your dancefloor up and help you to perfect your ‘rewind’ wrist action. Poupon takes it darker still, taking a razor blade and crochet hook to the vocals for a dizzying, grimy dance off that reminds you what your sweat glands are for. You can see them perform at Gorgon City’s Warehouse Project event alongside Bondax, Redlight, Kidnap Kid and more on November 7th but if you can’t wait for those fireworks, just put this on repeat. Works every time.
