They do say that the best things come in threes and you will be pleased to know that this is true of Mirco Caruso’s ‘Siren Ep’ for Go Deeva Recordings. ‘Siren’ is a peak time tech house tear-up complete with nasty, chugging, all aboard woo-woo sounds, police sirens and a groove that leaves you dropjawed and waiting for that almost tantric bassline drop. ‘Transmission’ is a full pelt, stick shift drive on the Le Mans circuit with bionic arm bending metal sound effects and some political spoken vocals, (is that George Bush or are my ears deceiving me?). Add one or two rave-up woohs just to punctuate an already adjective heavy arrangmeent and you have the measure of it. To close ‘Dead Man’ is a ride on the 303 express with a funky walking bassline, will o the wisp backing vocals, ‘dead man’ movie speech and drum rolls that whip it up higher than a Hollywood cyclone. Consider this a warning.
