Jonny Montana and Craig Stewart have always been a bit special for me as I think the pair is one of the best when it comes to work a soulful vocal in the best way. Various collaborations indicate this fact, and while Craig Stewart nowadays mainly does more driving deep stuff, the partnership with Jonny still stands for top quality soulful House. This time they team up with label mate Nortier to turn another great vocal (from Baltmore resident Dana Weaver) into gold. The ‘Original Mix’ is what I call a ‘Classic House Version’ with loads of strings, a funky bassline and brilliant keys that really do the awesome vocal from Dana some big justice. On the remix Greek hope Nikos Diamantopoulos strips back the groove and adds some dreamy keys whilst Italy’s soulful rising star Gigi Frassanito aka Soulbridge comes up with another proof of his big talent with his relentless funky Mix. James Crocker and Andy Jackson aka JFunc serve some deeper, moody versions while to round things off, it’s another soulful mix that shines, this time from George Tsalikee. All in all this is one of the best soulful records of the year to date, so get your hands on it!
