In it’s original form Mr Gone’s “Do For Love” cuts up bits of bluesy brass and puts them through the dub chamber, complimenting the smoke stained gritty vocal. While Magic Johnson turns in an uplifting electro tinged experience, with rising pads and synthesized bass. However it’s Matt Edwards aka Rekid aka Radio Slave that takes Mr Gone’s “Do For Love” on to a higher plane, stripping it back and giving it a super sexy & tripped out Detroit feel, as distant subtle Carl Craig flavours work their way to the fore, riding on hissing hi hats and building to a chemically enhancing club rush that is simply irresistible. The Radio Slave Remix is probably gonna start a whole new revival, but I doubt if many will sound anywhere near as spot on as this.
