The irrepressible Resin stable reins in a feisty Latin stallion for their next release in the form of Sao Paulo’s finest, MT. Joining forces with Resin top dog, Taishan they conspire to once again spread some warmth on our dancefloors. Tweaked synths are bathed in sweltering samba rhythms that are the perfect accompaniment to the raw, visceral chants of Funk Carioca, the music of the Brazilian ghettos. Once again this label and artist manage to inject a vibrant sub-tropic shot of energy into the crunchy beats and sub bass shenanigans of the breaks scene and make you feel like you’re wondering through the backstreets of Rio looking for a carnival afterparty. Boogie Army from Germany strip down the samba and give the original their own Teutonic twist which results in a pounding thumpathon. With xylophones. Which makes me think there’s not enough xylophones in music these days and I must get mine out again! Another quality release from resin.
