Nils and Sasse of Moodmusic’s new deep house imprint launches in fine style with the former plumbing the subterranean pipes to siphon Detroit block-chords over a hypnotic, swelling chug for close to ten minutes. ‘False Hopes’ continues the Motor City deep house angle with echoes of Carl Craig before ‘Everybody’ uses voices and shimmering electric piano to similarly mesmerising effect. Looks like being one of those special labels if the standard’s like this.
