Sven Vath’s almighty Cocoon brand has recently completed another fine season of White Island debauchery; heads held high as they fly the flag for remolded, renovated and renewed techno music. Rough, punky techno is a sound that has dominated European dance floors for much of the noughties and now the BPM’s are dropping it’s increasing its grasp on global clubbing. Thanks to massive tracks like Alter Ego’s “Rocker” the UK is getting quite a taste for this sound and stripped back minimal electro bass house is sweeping all other genre’s aside. This tune is an absolute peach. It’s got it all. A drop dead catchy hook that everyone will be trying to emulate for months to come, a low slung, riding bassline, cut up choppy guitar riffs and seemingly endless big room dynamics – without a doubt one of the summers biggest anthems.
