PATRICK ALAVI
COME TO ME/AT CLOSE RANGE
WORK IT BABY, FRANCE

Soon kicking off his own imprint RoXour, German-Persian Alavi follows ‘The End’ (Oxyd) and ‘Power’ (Work It Baby) with another single on Kris Menace’s parisian label. Based around a loop borrowed to Aretha Franklin’s familiar ‘Jump To It’, ‘Come To Me’ is a pumping slice of radio-friendly disco-house that works. It’s once again that well known French sound – only particularly well put together wit a big, bold shine. ‘At Close Range’ on the flip brings rock guitars to the equation – ‘Robot Rock’ stylee – but struggles to properly take off despite the solid production.
