CONNAISSEUR

This track is totally indicative of London clubbing; especially twisted Sunday afternoon parties spent doing naughty things in various sweaty East End venues. Big hollow production, huge reverbs, thin drums and a far weaker kick than traditional house music. Occasionally one of these records will break out into the house mainstream and we have a fiver on this one. Like Lindstromms “I Feel Space” there is a definite direction and sense of individual completeness to the track. The simplistic bass led intro is instantly recognizable as is the hugely unique swing to the drums. When that big string melody arrives, we’re fully locked in, and when the bass starts changing notes underneath it, eyeballs will start rolling. Think James Holden’s anthemic remix of Nathan Fakes “The Sky Was Pink” and you get an idea of the emotional impact of this record.
