With a bassline not unlike ‘Thriller’, ‘Pegasus’ is one of this irresistible instrumentals that has just the right amount of ambient female vocal (maybe in Arabic or maybe not) that gets right under the skin and drives you crazy in the same vein that Deep Forest did all those years ago. But when you add a relentless bassline, swirly synths effects and a burbling ambient underbelly, the net result is one damn essential number. As I’m sure you’ve already worked out for yourself, anything associated with the Freemasons (be it production, remix or in this case, releases via their own imprint) are essential for all the right reasons.
