If the devilish combination of a bass that would wobble the insides of Moby Dick, mixed with some bone cracking and snapping snares, sniffer dog hi hats, vibrating synth pads and drops that remind of holding your breath until you almost go blue, is enough to make you foam at the tech house mouth, then ‘False Image’ is most certainly for you. ‘Groundwater’ is a melodic lava lamp, bubbling to the surface and dropping like a sunflower yellow yolk to rise again on the ricochet of its cavernous beats. Derek Marin’s remix of ‘False Image’ takes it down a notch for a delicately trickled and tickled abstraction of the themes. It’s like sitting at the crossroads where art, abstract tech house and sound design meet.
