Fabulous production from Phil Asher which captures the essence of House Music in three words: mind, body and soul. Love the references to the past via the vocal snippets and uneasy jazzy chords occupying the background but also the fact that, ‘Need In Me’ could only have been produced in 2013/14. The drum programming is first-rate while the bassline neatly does its thing feeling all at once funky yet tough. The flip-side sees, ‘Madnite’ explore more twisted themes, as the title implies, and is altogether more intense. But either way the release is another excellent combination of ideas, grit and groove.
