Initially the returning Prince Quick Mix who in 11 totally absorbing minutes delivers an epic mixture of funky breaks and epochal lyrics from the mouth of Matt Peri. Dark and menacing it is not, more akin to the stylings of Victor Calderone or Stacy Burket. It’s a long road to be told, our duo not arriving at the vocal until well over half way through, but that’s what makes this hypnotic journey all the more a delight. Slick musicianship combining acoustic guitars, rich string lines and a solid backbeat build slowly before the song finally arrives in a crescendo of acoustic strumming not heard since Chris Rea’s ‘The Beach’. Created with mystical Balearic sunsets in mind.
