Rebirth

‘Premier live band’ is not a phrase thrown around too often in the world of club music, however, Brooklyn’s Tortured Soul have earned the title with over five years of touring and playing live (notching up some 500+ shows) – little wonder their current single and new album explores the themes of modern travel. “Home To You” (the first single from the album) is a polished, smooth little disco-ish groove built around a hooky chorus and vibes-a-plenty. For the remixes, Quentin Harris pulls out a typically upbeat remix, although it works with the song really well; the original Sir Remix himself Tom Moulton turns out a splendidly languid version that really stretches out the composite parts to great effect; and there’s a pretty cool Domu remix that chops things up over a broken rhythm.
