Such A Shame
Ego

Can it really be ten years since Mr Scruff released ‘Keep It Unreal’? It can – and it’s proved popular beyond anybody’s expectations, with loads of TV airplay to keep it in the public consciousness. With this anniversary rerelease, – dressed by Scruff’s own fair hand, he adds a bonus CD of tracks not yet heard, showing how his powers of invention were really high at the time. So we get the stripped back but very cool ‘Vibraphone Boogie’, the busy ‘Snack’ and the perky ‘Baisie’, all shot through with his trademark sense of humour. All this in addition to the fine piece of work that is the main album, with the likes of ‘Get A Move On’, ‘Fish’ and ‘Honeydew’ all sounding fresh and vital. One that fans will want to snap up without fail, this is, unusually for these sorts of packages, ‘all killer and no filler’ – and makes a feelgood addition to your summer.
