RM2 is one of Brazil’s top underground DJs and also resident at Dama de Ferro in Ipanema. His sound is an intriguing blend of deep house, funk and electro, actually sounding more New York than Rio. This debut outing is sparse, spacey with its soft piano riff and blessed with a dominating bass line which creates the flowing funk feel and even veers into ‘Papa Was A Rolling Stone’ near the end. For the remixes Quikstench further explore the 70s feel with guitar scraping and funky breaks before Rod [Greenhouse, Public Access] gives it the west coast house flavour. Strong package with a
vibe of its own.
