‘Allee Der Kosmonauten’, is the second single from Rodion’s forthcoming Generator album, with the remix duties dully taken on by Lauer, (one half of Tuff City Guys) and acclaimed producer of the moment – Heretic. Rodion and his band have made an essential epic eight minute dance classic here, journeying through this sonic cosmos you fly past vocoders, long spacey refrains, while synths race and shoot past this most colourful trip. And just when you think the adventure is over, it blasts off into deep space for one final hurrah, a left of centre slice of disco for late night freaks – make no mistake.
On his remix, Lauer takes the track to an acid laced place deep in the galaxy, with dark pulsing synths battling tribal drums, deeper and more sensuous than the original, that cannot fail to make you move. Heretic, also known for his Eskimo Twins moniker, is no stranger to odd ball disco, his remix is full of crunchy drums and frenetic rhythms that lead dancers through the outer stars and off into the vortex. Hold tight for the Generator album, as I’ve been lucky enough to have had a preview of the soon to be released excellent Rodion LP.
