With a million selling album to follow up, Royksopp are electronic music’s equivalent of Coldplay in as much as there is so much anticipation of what their new album The Understanding will be like. On the basis of this, the first single from it, then all worries should be allayed. It’s as beautiful, summery and shimmering as any of their best music, whilst also managing to be a little deeper too. It features vocals from the lads themselves and Kate Haverniek and although there are some more dancefloor-aimed mixes from Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, together with a Headman mix and their own much more electro re-rub, the best version is the straight album mix. It’s proper summer iPod material and hopefully signposts good things to come from the album. Welcome back…
