Sebastien Leger – Come Back/ Driving Home – (Mistakes Music)

Sebastien Leger celebrates his 20th DJ anniversary with a tech house hybrid sound that pushes boundaries yet remains true to its genre. ‘Come Back’ is a harmonica prompted, guitar strummed, distorted groove with tasty vocal drops and ping pong effects that merge and blend, lift then separate and merge again. It’s tech house that remembers that dancefloors are for dancing on (not just stumbling around to some k-hole induced pintack explosion) and pours lashings of funk into our thirsty lugholes to speed our return. ‘Driving Home’ is Locodice-tastic with that warbling, warped groove that makes booming bassbins on sunshine terraces shake and shiver with delight. The Hanne and Lorre remix of ‘Come Back’ is a gently cascading, guitar led groove with some funky drummed breaks that bubble and shatter like peanut brittle. If you don’t like it, call the funk police.
