Releasing his second recording on the label Shall Ocin keeps the standards high with music that fuses together different styles while avoiding easy classifications – which, these days surely says more than words. This fresh interpretation of energising electronics feels edgy yet funky not least of all on, ‘Forgive Me’ which incorporates brooding basslines and synths along with imaginatively programmed percussion to sound little short of spellbinding. The following Edu Imbernon Remix gets even heavier while retaining that dark sense of funkiness, as indeed does the EP’s title track itself. The excellent ‘Have To Say’ completes on a lighter note with breezier grooves accompanied by vocoder voices offset by splashes of heavy-duty keys for extra measure.
