You know how much I love bass, right? Well here is an absolute dream of an ep. Hot off the heels of his Dirty Bird success with ‘Okay’ Shiba San makes an appearance on ghetto / bass house killers CUFF Recordings with his ‘All About Booty’ EP. It’s a four track, no waste special with a little something for every floor. ‘Boom Shak’ drops a bassline heavier than uranium, iridium, osmium and ununoctium combined in a groove that ploughs a deeper furrow than a depressed plough horse. ‘I Like Your Booty’ works the ‘I Like Your Booty’ vocal loop into a frothy, bass bubbling lather. On the darker side ‘Kick Your Ass’ has the minor chord progression and a swag ‘get out the way b*tch, get out the way’ attitude that I’m sure Solange Knowles must be playing as her theme tune this week. Last and certainly not least, ‘Let The Music Play’ is a percussive, freakum funk bootay wiggler that would shift the cellulite on Vanessa Feltz’s backside. It’s a gift. Shiba San, Amine Edge and CUFF Recordings are very generous for giving us four stand alone club cuts with no fillers and thankfully so.
