Shift K3Y – Not Into It – (Ultra)

I was hypnotised with the acappella intro of Shift K3y’s ‘Not Into It’ when Annie Mac open her set with this at We Love, Space this summer. It is so distinctive – male and female ‘I’m not into it, I already know the game and I’ve been through it’ call and answerbacks are underpinned by hollow beats, a frantic click track, steady handclaps, the counter-sexual joy in rejection by repetition and a finished too early dead stop. You’ll either be into it or not.
